# Hazardous Goods and Limited Quantities

Record hazardous goods and limited quantities (LQ) per package, understand what is transmitted, and observe the limitations.

With the GLS Connector, you record hazardous goods under ADR and limited quantities (LQ) directly on the package. Whether you may ship hazardous goods with GLS, and which ones, is governed by your GLS contract. You are responsible for classification and packaging.

## Prerequisites

* **Enable Hazardous Goods** is turned on in **GLS Configuration**. Only then does the hazardous goods section appear on the package card.
* GLS has approved hazardous goods or LQ for your contract. The toggle in Business Central does not replace this approval.
* Optional: local hazardous material master data from which details are copied via the **Material Code**.

## Fields on hazardous lines

| Field                  | Content                                                       |
| ---------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Material Code** | Copies details from your local hazardous material master data |
| **Description** | Name of the substance |
| **GLS Hazard No.** | Hazardous goods number as specified by GLS |
| **UN Number** | UN number of the substance |
| **ADR Class**          | Hazard class                                                  |
| **Weight (kg)** | Weight of the hazardous goods on this line |
| **Limited Quantities** | Marks the line as LQ |

The material code only copies the master data you maintain. The app does not legally classify the goods.

## Procedure

1. Create the packages on the sales order.
2. Open the package card of the affected package.
3. In the hazardous goods section, enter one line per substance.
4. Select **Limited Quantities** on lines that are shipped as LQ.
5. Upload the package with **Upload Packages to GLS**.
6. If needed, open the **GLS Hazardous Goods Document** report using the standard search. Filter it on the affected order and document type, and check the output. The package card has no dedicated print action for this report.

## What is transmitted to GLS

| Line type             | Transmission                       |
| --------------------- | ---------------------------------- |
| ADR line (without LQ) | GLS Hazard No. and weight per line |
| LQ line | Parcel service LimitedQuantities |

UN number, description and ADR class are not fully transmitted to GLS. Maintain the **GLS Hazard No.** and **Weight (kg)** with particular care, because these values determine the ADR transmission.

## Hazardous goods document report

The **GLS Hazardous Goods Document** report contains the locally recorded hazardous goods details. It does not replace officially verified or legally complete transport documents. Check whether its content and format meet the requirements of your goods and of GLS.

## Troubleshooting

| Situation                                          | Solution                                                                                    |
| -------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Hazardous goods section is missing on package card | Turn on **Enable Hazardous Goods** in the configuration |
| GLS rejects the package | Check whether hazardous goods or LQ are approved in your contract; check the GLS Hazard No. |
| Details from master data are incomplete | Complete the hazardous material master data or complete the line manually |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.solutioo.de/gls-connector/gls-connector_en_us/daily-work/hazardous-goods-and-lq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
