# FAQ and known limitations

Answers to frequently asked questions and an overview of features that GLS Connector 26.13.40.0 deliberately does not cover.

## Frequently asked questions

**Does Test Connection create a test label?**

No. The action saves your entries and checks the sign-in at GLS. To get a test label, run a shipment in the sandbox.

**Can I use the same credentials for sandbox and production?**

No. Use separate GLS credentials.

**Does Smart Packing already book a shipment?**

No. After you confirm, Smart Packing only creates packages in Business Central.

**Does the app read weights from a scale?**

No. The weight comes from your master data and can be changed on the package card.

**Does the app automatically choose the cheapest product or a different carrier?**

No. The rate calculation uses your locally maintained GLS tariffs and does not compare them with other carriers.

**Are the calculated shipping costs binding?**

No. The GLS invoice is what counts.

**Is the delivery status updated in Business Central?**

No. Tracking opens the GLS link in the browser.

**Do I cancel a shipment by deleting the package?**

No. Uploaded packages cannot be deleted on the package card. Use **Cancel Parcel**.

**Which label format should I choose?**

PNG if you print several labels together from Business Central. PDF or Zebra if you download files or print directly to a label printer.

**Can I use different products within one multi-package shipment?**

No. Shipment-level data is taken from the first package. Upload packages with different settings separately.

**Why is my 45 kg package rejected?**

A fixed upper limit of 40 kg applies before upload. Check with GLS whether your contract actually allows packages up to this limit.

**Is the commercial invoice transmitted to GLS?**

No. Only the address, the country codes and the incoterm from the package card are transmitted. You prepare accompanying documents separately.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.solutioo.de/gls-connector/gls-connector_en_us/faq-and-known-limitations.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
