# Updates and changes

Check the installed version, install updates safely and know what to watch for if your version differs.

This page explains how to check your version and install updates safely.

{% hint style="info" %}
This documentation describes version 26.13.40.0. Check your installed version in Extension Management; if your version differs, features and captions may differ.
{% endhint %}

## Check the installed version

1. In Business Central, search for **Extension Management**.
2. Find the **GLS Connector** entry by solutioo.
3. Read the version.

The app itself does not display its version on the configuration page or in the wizard.

## Install updates

You receive updates through AppSource or the Business Central update mechanisms. **Future updates are included even with a one-time license agreed with solutioo**; see [License and plans](/gls-connector/gls-connector_en_us/licensing-and-plans.md).

Recommended procedure:

1. Install the update in the sandbox first.
2. Run a test shipment following the [Quick start](/gls-connector/gls-connector_en_us/quick-start.md).
3. Check label printing, multi-package shipments and the variants you use every day.
4. Then install the update in production.
5. After the update, check **GLS Configuration** and, if necessary, run **Test Connection** in the wizard.

## Changes to this documentation

**20.10.2026:** The online guide was completely revised for the version described: five-step setup, complete quick start, shipping variants, tariff management, troubleshooting and a separate developer reference. This editorial change is not an announcement of a new app release.

**Addition on 20.10.2026:** Eight real, sanitized screenshots now illustrate allowing HTTP requests and all five steps of the setup. The screenshots show the German user interface. The version shown in the screenshots, 26.13.40.1015, is stated in the guide.

**Further addition on 20 October 2026:** 15 additional real screenshots illustrate package creation and contents, Smart Packing, dimension checks, the multi-package view, label results, print preview and batch options. Together with setup, there are 23 image subjects. The complete English edition follows the same chapter structure, with English descriptions of the German demo interface. This is a documentation update, not a new app release.

## Different versions

If you have a different version installed, captions, fields or features may differ. Older guides for a customer-specific variant do not apply to this app. If in doubt, ask [Support](/gls-connector/gls-connector_en_us/support.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.solutioo.de/gls-connector/gls-connector_en_us/updates-and-changes.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
