# Currencies

So that prices and orders are transferred with the correct **currency code**, the currencies of both systems must be mapped to each other. The connector loads the currencies defined in Shopware as part of the initial data and makes them available for mapping.

**Setup**

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Load initial data**

Use [Load Shopware Initial Data](/shopware/shopware6_en_us/configuration/load-shopware-initial-data.md) to load the existing currencies from Shopware into the mapping table.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Check the mapping**

In the [Mapping Hub](/shopware/shopware6_en_us/configuration/shopware-mapping-hub.md), map each Shopware currency to the matching BC currency (for example EUR ↔ EUR).
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
The **local currency (LCY)** in Business Central remains authoritative for accounting. For the shop, the mapped Shopware currency applies.
{% endhint %}

**How it works together**

* Prices are transferred to Shopware in the mapped currency.
* During the order import, the currency of the order is taken into account.

### Frequently Asked Questions

#### What happens if a Shopware currency is not mapped to a BC currency?

Without a mapping, prices or orders in this currency cannot be processed correctly. Therefore, map every currency used in Shopware to the matching Business Central currency in the Mapping Hub before you upload prices or import orders.

#### Does the local currency of Business Central remain authoritative?

Yes. The local currency (LCY) remains authoritative for accounting. For the shop, the mapped Shopware currency is decisive; prices are transferred in the mapped currency and are taken into account accordingly during the order import.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.solutioo.de/shopware/shopware6_en_us/configuration/currencies.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
