# Sales Channels on the Item

Every item can be assigned to **one or more sales channels** – regardless of whether it is a simple item or a parent variant item.

**How to use it**

On the Item Card, you will find the **Sales Channel** area with a subpage list:

| Field                                | Meaning                              |
| ------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------ |
| **Sales Channel ID / Name** | Assigned Shopware channel |
| **UnAssign** | Marker used to remove the assignment |
| **Type** | Item or parent item |
| **isSync / Sync At / Status Reason** | Synchronization status               |

**Assigning or removing a channel**

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Select the channel**

Open the channel selection (AssistEdit) and select a channel from the mapping.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Upload**

With the next product upload, the visibility in the selected channel is set.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Remove**

To remove a channel, set **UnAssign** and upload again. Assignments that have already been uploaded should not be deleted directly, but removed via *UnAssign*.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Missing default channels (marked with *is Selected* in the mapping) are added to the item automatically – for example, when you open the Item Card and after the upload.
{% endhint %}

For the basics of channel setup, see [Set Up Sales Channels](/shopware/shopware6_en_us/configuration/set-up-sales-channels.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.solutioo.de/shopware/shopware6_en_us/master-data-management/sales-channels-on-the-item.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
