# Units & Measurements

Units of measure and the physical properties of an item are transferred to Shopware automatically during the upload.

**What is transferred?**

| BC                      | Shopware                        |
| ----------------------- | ------------------------------- |
| Base Unit of Measure | Unit (`unitId`), reference unit |
| Net weight × sales unit | `weight` (kg or g)              |
| Dimensions of the unit  | `height`, `width`, `length`     |
| Sales unit              | `purchaseUnit`, `packUnit`      |

**Weight unit**

The **Weight in Kg** configuration setting determines whether the weight is transferred in **kilograms** (enabled) or **grams** (disabled).

**Defining units**

You maintain additional units of an item under *Related → Item → Units of Measure*. There you define, for example, the weight or quantity per sales unit (such as for sets of three).

{% hint style="info" %}
Like other master data, units receive a **Web-ID** and are created automatically when required. Use **Reset Unit IDs** to rebuild the link.
{% endhint %}

### Frequently Asked Questions

#### Is the product weight transferred in kilograms or grams?

This depends on the “Weight in Kg” setting: if it is enabled, the connector transfers the weight in kilograms, otherwise in grams. The transferred weight is calculated as net weight × sales unit.

#### How do I set up base price information (for example, price per liter)?

Base price information is derived from the reference unit and the units of measure of the item. Maintain the base unit of measure and the related values in Business Central – the connector transfers the unit and reference unit to Shopware so that the base price is calculated correctly.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.solutioo.de/shopware/shopware6_en_us/master-data-management/units-and-measurements.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
