Initial Catalog Transfer

This guide takes your complete item catalog to Shopware in a structured, low-error way. The order of the steps is deliberate so that dependencies are respected (for example, categories before items).

Make sure the basics are in place

The connection, the initial data, and the mappings (taxes, currency, sales channel, customer group) must be set up.

Categories & attributes

Create or upload your item categories and item attributes.

Mark items as web items

Mark the items you want to transfer (using the Mark All as Web Item action, or by setting Web Item = Yes on each item).

Maintain pictures & texts

Add item pictures, marketing texts, and SEO metadata where applicable.

Test run

Start by uploading a small number of items and check the result in the shop and in the Activity Log.

Bulk upload

Transfer the rest using the bulk upload report – ideally outside business hours.

Prices & inventory

Finally, upload prices and inventory levels.

Afterwards, enable automation so that future changes are transferred automatically.
